Hi Rae
I've just bought a Kindle and am rapt because I can read it easily. With wonky eyes reading became so tricky that, had I been able to, I'd have abandoned it. Kindle is nothing like any of those i-things, pods or pads. It is book size, it works with black and white only, it has a cover like a book - and I can curl up with it in any corner or couch I fancy. It is so book-like the tip of my finger keeps landing at the top right corner thinking it will turn the page. But no no no. Now my thumb presses a button as it holds the book edge. Very convenient and the only real difference. Yes I love reading and I love Kindle that lets me:)

What a touching post.

It makes me think of the frequent reminicing I have of my grandmothers whilst cooking for the family. I'm always warmed by the simplicy and delicious results when I find myself preparing foods as they once did. Often triggered in the first instance by a desire to pursue a more frugal approach to home economics, I find myself reflecting on Nanna style cooking and serving up dishes my Gran once did. My Gran was renowned for wonderful cassoroles "using the cheaper cuts" and my Nanna seemed to constantly be producing baking off the top of the griddle? on her Rayburn.

There's a lot to said for the memories evoked through the traditions continued and the warmth and love that lives on.

Sending love to Robyn and Beki, I believe your darling lives on in so many hearts worldwide, as well as in our home.

Love

Not an obsessive chore for you (I hope) - but comments and news when they arise.
A good model for us all.
